Julie Smith is a dear friend of Lynn’s. Their connection goes back many years, when their families met in the Crown Green Bowling community. Their dads spent many a happy time playing crown green bowls together, forming a friendship that naturally bought Julie, Lynn and Sarah (fellow patron) together, leading them to form the own special friendship, which has continued to this day.
Julie takes great comfort from her regular catch ups with Lynn and Sarah, where they revisit cherished memories from their past, including sharing many happy stories about their dads, who are sadly no longer here. Their moms have maintained a close friendship too, and love to get involved in the ladies that lunch chatter.
Julie has always had a fondness for crown green bowls—more as a devoted supporter than a player – although she proudly claims her moment of glory winning Ladies Day at the former Richmond Bowling Club!
Julie has been incredibly inspired by the Foundation’s mission and Lynn’s personal journey to find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease, and consequently, Julie is passionate about doing all she can to support this cause and make a difference.
Julie said “I am absolutely delighted, excited and honoured and didn’t need asking twice to become a Patron of the Foundation. I will wholeheartedly support the foundations mission with the same dedication and heart that Lynn does tirelessly and with such passion I am so proud to call Lynn my friend, she truly is one in a million”
