Stuart has been deeply involved in raising awareness and funds for MND causes for almost two decades, following the diagnosis of his brother Spencer, known to all as Spenny, in 2009.
Following the loss of his brother just two years later her promised to carry on the fight until a cure was found and that has been his focus ever since.
Stuart has created some of the highest profile MND fundraising events and is best known for his Spennylympics fundraiser. During the 17 days of the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, he completed all 102 Olympic Events and received worldwide coverage in over 50 countries.
He was recognised for his contributions to the MND community with an MBE in the 2022 New Years Honours List.
He was also deeply honoured to represent the MND and Fundraising communities when he was invited to attend the state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
He recently described joining The Mel Evans MND Foundation as feeling like he had found his natural home. “The ethos and empathy of what Lynn has built in tribute to Mel sets it apart from other charities.” Stuart is excited to work with Lynn as they grow the Foundation to reach greater heights and make a huge difference to the MND community that we serve and raise more vital funds to put an end to the disease that has taken his beloved brother Spenny, Mel and so many more beautiful souls.
