Susan Pykett – Tandem Skydive for The Mel Evans MBE Foundation

On 6 September 2025 I am hoping to carry out a second tandem sky-dive from a height of 15.000 feet from Old Sarum Airfield to support research into Motor Neurone Disease.

The chosen MND charity is to support the Mel Evans MBE Foundation. Mel himself suffered from MND and established this Foundation to help others who were similarly affected.

The Foundation is currently passing 100% of all donations to SITRAN – the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience established by Professor Dame Pamela Shaw, one of Britain’s leading neuroscientists.

A current project of SITRAN is being carried out by a young Ph.D. student named Laura Ellis who is carrying out research into MND by analysing gut microbiome cells of the human body to discover the reasons why cells break down causing messages from the brain to muscles to be interrupted while brain function remains intact.

We wish Laura well with her research into Motor Neurone Disease.

I feel immensely proud to have achieved the sum on £1.391.00 for MND from your extremely kind and most generous donations on JustGiving last September 2024.

Let’s unite to fund research into Motor Neurone Disease with Mel Evans MBE Foundation. Please support and make a difference!

Thank you so much

Susan Pykett
