Running for the MEL Evans Foundation at the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon

The MEL Evans Foundation was proud to have supporters take on the incredible challenge of the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon in Leeds — an event inspired by the legacy of rugby league legend Rob Burrow and dedicated to raising awareness and support for those affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Held in Leeds and attracting thousands of runners and supporters, the marathon has quickly become one of the North’s most inspiring fundraising events, bringing communities together through determination, resilience and generosity.

This year, members of Team MEL Evans took to the streets alongside thousands of other runners to support the Foundation and help raise vital funds for our ongoing work. From experienced marathon runners to first-time participants, every runner showed incredible commitment, dedication and spirit throughout the challenge.

We are currently still collating the final fundraising totals, but we already know that the support shown has been absolutely fantastic. Every donation, message of encouragement and mile completed helps us continue making a difference through the Foundation’s work.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who:

  • Ran on behalf of the Foundation
  • Donated and supported our runners
  • Shared fundraising pages and encouragement
  • Helped raise awareness of the Foundation and our mission

The atmosphere throughout the marathon weekend was truly inspiring and reflected the powerful community spirit that events like this create.

We’ll share the final fundraising total once all donations have been received and counted — but for now, thank you to every single person who supported Team MEL Evans at the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon.
